The library offers a wide range of services and resources to patrons and members of the community. If you hold a Wisconsin Valley Library Service card you are invited to check out our materials. If you don't hold a card our services are still available to you. Stop in to talk to a librarian and fill out a card application for access to all we offer!
Computers - We have 9 public computers, 7 with internet connection and 2 loaded with children's games for offline activites. Free WiFi service is available for tablets and other personal devices. Library cards are not necessary to use these resources. A librarian is also available to help you navigate the internet and answer your technology questions.
Printing and Faxing - A wireless printer is available for printing from a library computer or from your personal device. Cost for this service is 10 cents per black and white page and 50 cents for each color page. Copies can be produced at the same rate. Fax service is $1.50 for the first page, $1 for each additional page.
Reference - Find help for your internet search; job sites, government information, WVLS library catalog, amazon and other retail sites and general surfing. We also have library provided reference books; dictionary/thesaurus, history, biographies, local interest, state information and religion. Have a question? We are happy to help you find the answer!
Meeting Room - The library has a meeting room available for individuals and groups to book for their use. The room can hold up to 40 people and can be closed for privacy. For non-profit groups the room is free of charge; for others a donation is appreciated. Talk to the librarian to reserve a time.
Materials - Of course we have books! Adult, young adult, kids, toddlers and babies. Fiction and non-fiction. New and classics. Check out our displays for special interest books and seasonal reads. Did you know we also have magazines, movies, video games and electronic books? As members of WVLS you also have access to audiobooks, music and television shows. The items can be requested through the online catalog or ask a staff member to help you.
Readers Advisory - Looking for your next great read? We can help you find it with read-alikes (books/authors similar in some way to your favorite), introduce you to new authors, navigate a series order and recommend popular and/or award winning books. Children's books are identified with levels to help kids and parents find an appropriate reading level and also cataloged into graduated locations for easier browsing.
Programs - Programming is offered for all ages.
Adult: reading challenges, informational/entertainment speakers, book club.
Tween/Teen: summer reading, movie nights, special events
Children: story time, summer library program, movie showings, special events
If there is a program type that you are interested in the library hosting, please discuss with us; we hope to involve the community in the programs/speakers that are offered.
